Solid Waste Pick-Up Schedule

The Solid Waste Pick-Up Schedule is as follows:

October - May: Pick-up is every Tuesday.

June - the 3rd Week of September: Pick-up is every Tuesday and Saturday.

Please note:

• Trash carts must be at the street by 6:00 a.m. on the pickup day.
• Carts on OCEAN BLVD. ONLY will be rolled back to the front of the house.  The carts on the rest of the Island will be rolled back out of the right-of-way or placed in the cart rack, so long as the cart rack is within the right-of-way.
• BAG the trash before putting it in the cart.

 Recycle Center

The Holden Beach recycle container is located behind Town Hall at the end of Rothschild Street right off of Ocean Boulevard west of the bridge.  The container is commingled, and the following items are accepted:

• Newspapers
• Magazines
• Aluminum cans
• Steel cans
• Bimetal cans
• Clear glass
• Brown glass food containers
• green glass
• #1 - #7 plastics

Materials do not need to be separated when placed in recycling container.

Yard Waste Service

Yard waste pickup is provided twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Friday of March, April, May, October, November, and December.

Yard debris needs to be secured in a biodegradable bag or bundled in a maximum length of 5' and 50 pounds in weight. A total of ten items (bundles of brush/ limbs, bags) will be picked up by Waste Industries. Yard waste must be placed at the street for pick-up. No pick-ups will be made on vacant lots.

Yard waste can also be hauled to the landfill on Oxpen Road for a fee per truck load.
